The Marvellous Light

A Marvellous Light was released in 2021 followed by A Restless Truth, and A Power Unbound. The three books make up The Last Binding trilogy.
The series is set in alternative Edwardian England following young baronet Robin Blyth. This is a queer cozy fantasy romance. Robin officially has taken a minor governmental post. Unofficially, he is tasked with being the parliamentary liaison with a secret magical society. An administrative error leads him to stumble onto a hidden world he would not have known before.
There are mysteries to be solved. Robin will require the help of Edwin Courcey, his counterpart from the magical society, and it seems at first meeting, they cannot get along.
Freya Marske is an Australian fantasy and romance author. She considers herself a writer of romantasy, with a focus on queer romance. A couple of more recent titles are Swordcrossed in 2024, and Cinder House, which was released in December 2025. Both are standalone fantasy novels.
After putting A Marvellous Light on my TBR awhile back, I finally have it from the city library. My interest in the book has rekindled.
