The Changeling

Continuing with fairy tale retellings, The Changeling by Victor Lavalle is the next one on my TBR.

I mentioned it earlier in the year, but finally getting around to reading it.

With a TV series on Prime with the author as the narrator, the story is about a father looking for his abducted wife and son.

Set in an alternate New York City, Apollo Kagwa is also dealing with a father who disappeared after leaving him when he was young a box of books, and strange reoccurring dreams.

Now a father himself, Apollo and his wife Emma are adjusting to their new life as parents. The anxiety leads to the return of the old dreams for Apollo, and post partum depression for Emma.

Apollo’s journey leads him to strange places.
