Rich People Problems

After reading the second book in the Crazy Rich Asians series earlier this year, I have the third book remaining in the series.

I haven’t made much progress in the book series I have started, so if I read Rich People Problems before the end of the year, I would be closer to my reading goal.

The story focuses on Nicholas and Rachel. The first book was about Nicholas bringing Rachel to meet his rich family in Singapore. The second book was about Rachel learning more about the father she didn’t know growing up, and now the third focuses on Nicholas’ grandmother introduced in the first book.

After so much that as happened with the Crazy Rich Asians rom-com, it does seem odd that I am still reading these books.

With the changes taking place with the book publishing and film industries that is increasingly global in scope, there is also the increasing look back at what’s been done before. What was once the cherished soap opera that everyone in Singapore watched becomes something else when Asians move somewhere else.
