Almost forgot a book with the excitement of new releases. Book of Night was the adult fiction debut for the YA fantasy writer Holly Black. Some of her earlier novels have an urban fantasy feel to them dealing with those in the faerie realm. They are themes that brought her success with around 30 published works for children, teens, and adults.

One of the stand out series was The Folk of the Air with four books, The Cruel Prince, The Wicked King, The Queen of Nothing, and How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories.

Book of Night follows Charlie Hall who bartends at a dive and knows a bit about picking locks, stealing books, or making a bad decision. She has worked with magicians in the past who made evil doings, so she is determined to stay away from them as much as possible.

There is a second book that was released in September, The Thief of Night, which I have not seen much discussion.
